Navy throw pillow – Welting on a cushion or navy throw pillow, also known as tube or recording, you can add a polished and professional touch to your home decor projects. Adding welting is not a difficult affair, but it takes time, concentration, and a whole bunch of pins to make correctly. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to add welting throw navy throw pillows and sofa cushions quickly and easily, so you might want to make different welted cushions in all kinds of colors and patterns.
Cut the fabric to your pillow front and back. They must be the size of your navy throw pillow form – or the size you want to stuff the navy throw pillow to be – plus 1/2 inch width and length. Cut two. Place one of your navy throw pillow fabric pieces right sides up. Place the other piece of fabric right side down on top of the welding points. Pin this down on top of the other piece and welding, making sure to align the edges.
Stitch around the outside edge of the pad, as close as possible to the edge of the welding, but leaving a 4-inch section unstitched for stuffing or most of one side unstitched if you use a navy throw pillow shape. Turn the navy throw pillowcase inside out and reaching in to poke out the corners so that they are not reversed. Stuff or fill up the lid, and then hand sew it closed in a matching color thread.
