Wood sliding closet doors must have a track on the top and bottom of the door to facilitate movement. In many cases, the track is old and warped, or cabinet doors themselves were cut too large for you slide easily. To solve this problem is have to remove the sliding wooden doors and replace tracks or sanding the door with the right size.
Push up on the wood sliding closet doors to release the bottom of the door track. Pull the door out and away from the lower track and pull down to remove it from the box. Check the tracks twist. If tracks swell or deform, use the screwdriver to loosen the screws and remove the ski cabinets. Get a set of tracks to match the box and screw into place. Replace both the bottom and top tracks.
Check the size of the closet door. It should be slightly smaller than the cabinet opening to easily move. Sand the top and bottom of the wood sliding closet doors to cut about 1/8 inch from each side. Place the sliding door back into the closet and see if slippage is easier. If not, remove the door and the sand for another 1/8 to not slide well.
