Chenille throw blanket – is made of short pieces of wire twisted around longer thread pieces. The slight departure from the shorter pieces centerpiece is what gives chenille throws her soft, luxurious look and feel. Because of the possibility of smaller strands of yarn pulling loose, care should be taken to wash items made of chenille. Wash cycles and mild detergents are best.
Place a chenille throw blanket in in a pillowcase or a big bag of socks before washing. Tie the top of the pillowcase with a shoestring or secure the loop in the bag hosiery. Distribute the load with a previously washed towel or two, depending on the size of your shot. Wash on gentle cycle with cold water and mild detergent. A mild detergent is made better.
Before drying, remove the chenille throw blanket of the pillowcase. Look at the fringe. If it binds, gently comb through it with your fingers. Mostly dry line. If you do not have a clothesline, place a clean towel over a curtain rod shower to dry. The bathroom fan ventilation can speed drying. When the throw is almost dry, place it in the dryer at low temperature with a dryer sheet. Finishing dryer lint and softens the thread.
